The election is approaching fast, this year it is on April 8th. Get to know your candidates in the 2014 Santa Clarita City Council race. On Friday, March 28th, 2014 at 9:00am there will be a special three hour broadcast interviewing all 13 candidates on KHTS 1220 AM. Hosting this event is Arif Halaby, known for his popular weekly radio show "Safer Money Hour". Halaby aims to present each of the 13 candidates for this term's election by interviewing each of the them on this special program. He plans to cover each of the candidate's platforms as well as what they do, why they're running and why they feel they're qualified to run for City Council.
The race is expected to be very competitive as there are 13 candidates seeking to fill only three of the 4 year seats. There will be 2 two incumbents, Santa Clarita City Councilwoman Marsha McLean and Mayor Laurene Weste vying for re-election.
