It was reported that ahead of the introduction of EMV chips in credit cards in the United States, a further increase in credit card fraud is expected.

Director of payment services at Ingenico, Allen Friedman, stated that increased fraud is in fact already here; "sixty-seven percent of the UK-issued card fraud is from the US."
