(MoneyNewsWire.Net, March 10, 2015 ) Syracuse, NY -- A few months ago, a bus full of passengers collided with a Toyota sedan that had been abandoned in the middle of Interstate 81.
Although the reason why the car was left there is technically unknown, the owner did admit to having a few glasses of wine. He also failed a sobriety test, however, it has been mentioned that a knee injury could have been the reason that he lost balance.
He has now found himself in court, facing misdemeanor drunken driving and felony vehicular assault charges. He complained about his attorney, saying, "I want a lawyer who actually believes me." Although the judge admitted that he doesn’t usually switch lawyers out this way, he did assign a new attorney to the defendant’s case.
What about the victims involved? It took two hours to remove the bus driver, who ended up being seriously injured, along with at least 25 passengers being taken to local hospitals.
A driver of a big rig had pulled over at the time, and the bus also ended up colliding with his truck.
Nine ambulances were brought to the scene, and multiple other sources, such as the Red Cross disaster action team, were dispatched in.
The incident has since been deemed a “mass casualty incident” be the standards set by Onondaga County Department of Emergency Management.
The victims of this crash need a lawyer they can trust to be on their side. Alexander & Catalano have been practicing personal injury law in this area for many years, and can be reached at www.alexanderandcatalano.com
