(MoneyNewsWire.Net, January 12, 2015 ) Atlanta, GA -- A dense fog advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service for certain cities that are located within Georgia.
Residents of these areas are urged by authorities, along with Atlanta personal injury lawyer John Foy, to drive cautiously as fog rolls itself out thick this evening. The fog advisory is expected to last at least until 6 p.m. central time throughout the areas of northern and central Georgia.
Specifically, the counties of Cherokee, Clayton, Gwinnett, Spalding, DeKalb and Fulton have all been placed under the warning, along with other areas, both in and out of the Atlanta metro area.
The distance of visibility during today’s fog is expected to be one-fourth of a mile, or possibly even less. Beyond that, once the fog lifts, it will continue to be cloudy with a 70% chance of rain.
Inclement weather is normally thought of as extreme conditions, such as snow or thunderstorms. In reality, fog can be just as dangerous due to the limited view that drivers have of what’s ahead of them and these conditions should be taken just as seriously.
In fact, 17 traffic fatalities have recently been reported from India within less than a month’s time due to fog that they’ve recently had. In the past, they have witnessed a pile-up of over 200 cars for the same reason. Here in the United States, well over 31,000 accidents are being caused each year by fog according to the ten-year average.
Victims in fog-related accidents may need an Atlanta car accident lawyer. The law office of John Foy & Associates is currently accepting these case types.
