Get To Know The Founder Of Dearo - Why RFID Blocking Sleeves?

(MoneyNewsWire.Net, January 16, 2015 ) United Kingdom, Yorkshire -- Claire Dearing, the founder of the Dearo brand, has up until now kept herself out of the spotlight.

Although figures show that the Dearo brand is gaining popularity, and sales of RFID Blocking Sleeves continue to climb, Claire wanted to create a more personal relationship of trust between herself, the brand and the customers. The beginning of a brand new year is a great time to reveal a little more about Claire's background and the reason why she set up a business selling RFID Blocking Sleeves.

Claire was born and still lives in rural East Yorkshire in the United Kingdom. Currently 23 years old, Claire has graduated from university with a Bachelor's Degree in History and a Masters Degree in Historical Research. She had always had an interest in business and entrepreneurialism, and had dabbled in various small businesses throughout her time in education.

She had decided to start an online business early in 2014, selling physical products via Amazon – the largest online storefront in the world. One thing she was struggling with however, was deciding on the products she wanted to sell! Just as she was beginning to think she would never find the perfect product, something unexpected happened to Claire which put her back on course.

She returned home one day to a voicemail message left on the answerphone. It was from the bank saying that there had been unusual activity within her account. At first she thought "this can wait until the morning" – it was getting late anyway, so Claire put the phone down and went to bed.

The next day she listened to the message again, and then contacted the phone number they had provided. Claire found out the around £1400 (which is over $2100!) had been taken from her account, via her debit card, without her knowledge! She was shocked and angry, she felt violated and worst of all, she was worried that, seeing as this had happened so easily, what was stopping someone from doing it again?!

It transpired that most of that £1400 was spent on two flights worth over £400 each! The rest was spent on smaller purchases and bank transfers.
Claire could not think how someone somewhere in the world had got hold of her bank details – she hadn't given her pin number out to anyone, or let anybody use her card. It was as if they had magically extracted her details from her via invisible forces!

Claire did eventually and painstakingly get all of her money refunded, but she immediately started looking for something that would protect her card and bank details from anything like this happening again. That's when she first came across Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) and found that a small chip embedded in most modern credit, debit and other smart cards is where all of the confidential financial and personal information to do with the card is stored. After looking into this, she discovered that wireless theft of such information via electromagnetic interference is a real growing threat. That's when Claire realised that this is how her information must have been stolen. The fact that someone can so easily use an electronic device to scan credit cards and extract their data - even through clothes and bags – terrified her. The fact that it would be undetectable until it is too late scared her even more!

Claire looked at various RFID blocking products like wallets and sleeves, but none of them seemed of good enough quality to give her that peace of mind that she needed.

And then it clicked.

If she could find a high quality manufacturer to work with, Claire could design her own RFID Blocking Sleeves! So that's what she did. Claire contacted hundreds of suppliers until she found the leading Smart Card Company in China, Shenzhen Chuangxinjia smart card co. Ltd. She told them exactly what she wanted – the highest quality products to provide peace of mind to the widest audience possible – and they worked together to create Dearo RFID Blocking Sleeves!

Claire now sells thousands of sleeves (which come in packs of 10) on Amazon and is continuing to give people the relief, peace of mind and freedom they deserve.
And of course, Claire still uses them too ;)
