Jim and Jeff are noted co-authors of the retirement-focused book What You Don't Know About Retirement Income Can Hurt You.
Both Jim and Jeff are active members of the Independent Excellence Group, a highly regarded national think tank comprised of leaders from the financial services arena. After years of collaborating and sharing ideas, their new relationship will result in a combined financial expertise that has spanned over thirty decades. Mr. Merklinghaus has developed a very successful practice, JBM Financial, in the greater New York area from a base of operation in East Rutherford, New Jersey. He has now expanded to Vero Beach, Florida. Mr. Klauenberg's firm, Klauenberg Retirement Solutions, has helped people to retire and remain successfully retired throughout the Baltimore - Washington metropolitan area from their office in Laurel, Maryland.
While the authors will assist each other's clients on the East Coast, the specific focus of their new relationship will be to join forces in the state of Florida. As Jim Merklinghaus stated; "As our clients near retirement age many of them are moving their legal residences to Florida. While writing our chapters of the book, Jeff and I compared notes and realized that we could better serve our clients if we had a satellite operation in Florida."
